Semi automated lines

Automate with CIDAN’s intelligent production solutions for efficient sheet profile manufacturing. Create profiles using the nowEvolution software, which sends optimized cutting instructions to Forstner’s nowSLIT cut-to-length line with step-cut. The profiles are marked with QR codes for easy identification and contain data for CIDAN’s folding machine or Thalmann’s long folder. The operator initiates the process with a single press of a button; after cutting, the QR code is scanned at the folding machine, and bending instructions are displayed on the screen immediately.

Welcome to the future.

Step into the digital world with automation. CIDAN offers a wide range of smart production tools to upgrade and streamline a fast production flow of sheet profiles. The first step is to design the desired profile in the nowIT program nowEvolution. After a few more clicks in the Production program module, the software automatically generates cutting-optimized information for Forstner’s cut-to-length line nowSLIT equipped with step-cut. Cut pieces are marked with QR codes containing data for Götened’s folding machine or Thalmann’s long folder with angles and dimensions.

Simple and efficient.

The operator at the cut-to-length line only needs to activate the process by pressing “Run.” After cutting and marking, the QR code is used to load bending instructions directly onto the folding machine screen. Additionally, we can assist in transitioning from a semi-automated to a fully automated production line with Thalmann’s user-friendly and efficient long folders, further reducing the overall production time.

Key advantages:

Reduces your production time

Achieves higher quality in your production

One operator can work through the entire process

FAQ

A semi-automated line for sheet metal processing is a production solution where several steps in manufacturing are connected to create a more efficient material flow. Instead of handling each operation separately, machines, control systems and the operator can work together in a more controlled workflow. CIDAN’s semi-automated lines are designed for companies that want to take a clear step toward automation for sheet metal processing without immediately investing in a fully automatic production line.

A semi-automated production line is a good choice when a company wants to increase capacity, reduce manual steps and create a more repeatable flow in sheet metal production. It is especially suitable for businesses working with recurring sheet metal profiles, varied orders or production where shorter lead times and consistent quality are important. For companies in sheet metal processing, construction, roofing, façade work and ventilation, semi-automation can be an efficient first step toward more automated production.

Semi-automation improves the production of sheet metal profiles by reducing manual material movement, shortening setup times and creating better control of the material flow. When parts of the process are automated, the operator can work in a more structured way while the risk of errors and unnecessary stops is reduced. This provides higher productivity, better repeatability and a more consistent result from coil or sheet metal material to finished sheet metal profile.

The difference between semi-automated and fully automatic lines mainly lies in the level of automation. A semi-automated line improves selected parts of production, while the operator still plays an active role in the workflow. A fully automatic line goes further and can connect more steps in a complete production chain from coil to finished sheet metal part. Semi-automation is therefore suitable for companies that want to improve productivity step by step and build on existing processes.

Semi-automated lines are suitable for companies that want to improve sheet metal processing, optimize material flow and take the next step in automation without automating the entire production process at once. They are especially relevant for businesses producing sheet metal profiles for roofing, façade work, ventilation, construction and other professional sheet metal processing applications. For companies that want to reduce setup time, increase capacity and build a more future-ready production environment, semi-automated lines are a strong solution.
