Upper beam
The combi beam offers flexibility like no other tooling system, you can switch between the straight rail and high divided tooling in a matter of seconds.

The combi beam increases the flexibility for different shapes of profiles. This gives the ability to form a larger variety of parts without tool changing.

Upper beam: Eccentric drive
The eccentric driven clamping system (no spindles) eliminates wear and tear during movement which insures long life of the drive.
The dual motor eccentric clamping provides high
clamping pressure for closing hems.
High opening and closing speed and adjustable opening heights.
Clamping force for sensitive materials is adjustable in the control.
Pneumatic lock of upper beam position. A very strong solution to hold the upper beam into position during folding.

Folding beam
The folding beam is dual driven by two 2.0 hp (1.5 kW) motors and is very rigid and stable.
The slim folding beam design allows the operator a more comfortable standing position next to the bending line while operating the machine.
Automatic material thickness adjustment
Tool depth of the folding beam is controlled by the software.
Depending on the different material thickness, the control adjust the folding beam height accordingly (0.15″ (4 mm) max).
In addition, bending up-side-down hems and small offset bends is a very simple and fast process.

Crowning of folding tools
The folding beam has a manual crowning system which improves straightness on heavier material and longer parts.
The crowning range is up to 0.04″ (1.5 mm).

Folding beam tooling – Standard model
The standard folding beam rail is undivided.
Folding beam tools are available in several widths from 0.04″ (7 mm) up to 1.2″ (30 mm).
Standard execution will be 0.59″ (15 mm) and 1.18″ (30 mm), Different combinations is possible.

Tool changing – Standard model
The undivided folding beam tools have a keyhole system for easier changing of the folding rail.

Folding beam tooling – Multifold model
Folding beam tools are available in several widths from 0.27″ (7 mm) up to 1.18″ (30 mm). All folding tools are segmented from 1.37″ (35mm) up to 7.8″ (200 mm) in length.
With a free space of 2.6″ (67 mm) to the tool seat, most flanges with different bend lines can be achieved.

Tool changing – Multifold model
The divided folding beam tools are clamped in position (no screws) and can easily be moved or changed by hand.

Pre bend tooling – Multifold model
With angled folding tools, internal flanges up to 90° can be achieved without destroying surrounding material.
Note: material thickness is limited 0.49″ (1.25 mm) (400N/mm²).

Lower beam
FORMA can be equipped with the standard lower beam tooling or the Multifold version with divided lower beam tools.
Lower beam tooling – Standard model
The lower rail 0.78″ (20 mm) high is divided in segments of 31.4″ (800 mm) or 35.4″ (900 mm) allowing quick and easy changing and lowering replacement costs in the event of damage.

Lower beam tooling – Multifold model
All lower tools are segmented from 1.37″ (35 mm) up to 7.8″ (200 mm) in width.
Divided lower beam tools in combination with a height adjustable backgauge (AGS) gives full flexibility forming parts.
The multifold lower tools have a free space of 1.49″ (38 mm).
The divided lower beam tools are clamped in position (no screws) and can easily be moved or changed by hand.

Free space on the sides

All upper- and lower beam tools can be provided with a sharp edge (S1) and also in different radius (f.g R1 or R2).
Backgauge
Our backgauges are rigid constructions and are driven with a servomotor, ballscrew and linear guides for highest precision and repeatability.
Chose between our options to get a tailor made backgauge built after your needs.
Backgauge standard execution
FLEXIBLE and solid backgauge table, equipped with dual servo motors, ball screws and linear guides
For the bending of short components, a set of fingers is positioned at the centre and on both sides of the apparatus to facilitate the process.
Steel ball transfers in all support pans help the operator to move the sheets.
Spring steel fingers in the front row of the backgauge makes it possible to gauge to 0.12″ (3 mm) from the bending line.
Note:
No cut outs in the lower beam tools – No marks in folded parts

Several rows of gauging stops
With several rows of 0.98″ (25mm) high solid finger positions with ”stops” at every 19.6″ (500 mm), any position on the backgauge can be reached in 2 seconds, speeding up the process between bends.

Backgauge extensions
The base unit has a depth of 61″ (1550 mm).
For larger panels we offer extensions to match the working length of the machine via modules.
The picture shows an extension in the middle – can be also on the left or the right side (J-shape left or right).
The modules make it possible to change a standard FLEXIBLE to an L-, J-, T- or U-shaped format.

Brush table (FLEXIBLE)
The FLEXIBLE backgauge can be equipped with brush table

Side stop/ squaring arm (option)
A squaring arm left and/ or right at the backgauge table gives the advantage of fast and rigid positioning of the sheet to match up with the tool setup.
It can also support narrow sheets that only engages one backgauge finger.

AGS backgauge
The AGS backgauge is a rigid construction and is driven with a servomotor, ballscrew and linear guides for highest precision and repeatability. The backgauge speed enables the productivity to increase and at the same time, decreases the costs of your forming operation.
The base unit is U-shaped with a depth of 61″ (1550 mm) at the sides and 41″ (1050 mm) in the middle. The deep cutout in the middle gives the advantage to reach closer to the bend line. It is also wide – for maximum workability of the machine.
An easy setting in the control and the table is completely flat and the sheet can be rotated easily.
Design your own backgauge according to your needs with different modules.
You can add side extensions left and/ or right according to the working length of the machine.
For large applications like panels, doors and cabinets, we recommend a J-shaped or U-shaped backgauge.
Even 118″ (3 m) and 157″ (4 m) parts can easily be handled by one operator.

Height adjustable
backgauge (option)
Height adjustable backgauge (0-1.9″ (50mm)) gives you full flexibility forming parts.
- Embossings in parts can be compensated.
- Bending complicated profiles from the folding beam side
With the support panels in standard position, the table can move down to 1.4″ (36mm).
With the support panels in the rear position, the table can move down to 1.9″ (50mm).
