Multiple Decoiling Lines

A multiple decoiling line is a machine solution for efficient sheet metal handling from coil, where several coils can be managed within the same production flow. It is used in sheet metal processing to produce material in specified lengths, for in-house stock or sales, as well as for recoiling from large to smaller coils. A multiple decoiling line increases production flexibility, enables fast material changes, and contributes to reduced waste, higher capacity, and completely flat sheets.

FAQ

A Multiple Decoiling Line is used for efficient handling and processing of multiple coils in the same production flow. Instead of changing material manually, the operator can quickly switch between different coils, materials, widths, or colors. The FORSTNER MULTICOILLINE is developed for companies that want to increase speed, reduce waste, and achieve completely flat sheets of coil material. It is especially suitable for architectural metal & roofing, ventilation manufacturing, façade work, and industrial fabrication. CIDAN’s US page also describes the line as suitable for producing cut-to-length sheets and strips, in-house stock or sales, recoiling into smaller coils, and feeding punching, laser cutting, or panel bending machines.

With the FORSTNER MULTICOILLINE, material changes can be carried out fully automatically in less than one minute. This makes it possible to switch quickly between different coils without long production stops. For companies that handle several material types, material thicknesses, or colors, this creates a more flexible workflow, shorter setup times, and better control over the material flow.

A Multiple Decoiling Line is suitable for companies that frequently switch between different coil materials or need to produce sheet metal in defined lengths for in-house stock, sales, or further processing. It is especially relevant for architectural metal & roofing companies, ventilation manufacturers, façade companies, industrial sheet metal processors, and production environments where the material is fed on to punching, laser cutting, or panel bending machines. For operations with high demands on flexibility and productivity, a Multiple Decoiling Line can create a more stable and efficient production flow.

The FORSTNER MULTICOILLINE is available for coil widths of approximately 49 in. or 60 in. and can be equipped with 2 to 6 decoilers. The line can handle coil weights up to approximately 17,600 lb, depending on configuration. For mild steel, the material thickness range is approximately 0.016–0.079 in. This makes the MULTICOILLINE suitable for production environments where several coils need to be available at the same time and where fast, automatic material changes are important to maintain an efficient workflow.

A Multiple Decoiling Line improves sheet metal processing by combining coil handling, material changeover, and the production of flat sheets in a more controlled flow. The operator can reduce manual steps, shorten setup times, and use material more efficiently. By producing sheet metal in defined lengths and feeding the material on to punching, laser cutting, or panel bending machines, the FORSTNER MULTICOILLINE can contribute to higher productivity, less waste, and more flexible production.
